The BYD Seal has become more expensive in Nepal due to increased customs duties following the new electric vehicles tax policies for the fiscal year 2081/82. The price hikes vary across different variants, which are differentiated by their battery and motor capacities. The Dynamic variant saw an increase of Rs. 5 lakhs, bringing its new price to Rs. 1,10,00,000 from the previous Rs. 1,05,00,000. The Premium variant experienced a hike of Rs. 6.50 lakhs, raising its price to Rs. 1,45,50,000 from Rs. 1,39,00,000. The Performance variant, the most affected by the new tax policies, increased by Rs. 10 lakhs, now priced at Rs. 1,95,00,000, up from Rs. 1,85,00,000.
BYD Atto 3
Due to new government taxes regulations for electric vehicles for the fiscal year 2081–2082, the price of the BYD Atto 3 in Nepal has increased. The Atto 3 was previously available for between Rs. 55.99 and Rs. 65.88 lakhs. The Superior variation (60.48 kWh) has seen a price rise of Rs. 1,92,000, taking its new price to Rs. 67.80 Lakhs, while the Advanced variant (49.92 kWh) has seen a price increase of Rs. 91,000, now standing at Rs. 56.90 Lakhs due to the new taxation regulations.
