Hyundai Nepal has some exciting news for the electric vehicle lovers. The most advanced tech and sporty design, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, will be available at an all-new reduced price of Rs 92.96 lakh—considerably lesser than the previous cost of Rs 1.02 crore. The new prices of the Hyundai Kona Electric are a testament to the company's commitment to making sustainable, high-performance vehicles more accessible to the Nepali market. It brings in a 100 kW motor variant with the introduction, making for an attractive option for customers besides the currently offered 125 kW model.

This price cut is in line with recent government policies that reduced tax and customs duties on electric cars with motor capacities between 100 and 200 kW. These changes first brought the price of the 125 kW Ioniq 5 down to Rs 1.17 crore from the original Rs 1.02 crore, but now, with the introduction of the 100 kW motor variant, the price has been changed further to Rs 92.96 lakh.

The move has enabled Hyundai Nepal to offer customers a more affordable entry into its premium electric crossover lineup while retaining most of the luxurious and advanced features associated with the Ioniq 5.

Built on Hyundai’s exclusive Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the Ioniq 5 boasts a high-tech 800-volt electrical system, allowing ultra-fast charging capabilities that are unmatched in the Nepali market. Equipped with a 350 kW DC fast charger, this EV can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. This feature is especially convenient for users looking for rapid charging solutions, making the Ioniq 5 ideal for both daily commutes and long drives. Though slightly detuned to 100 kW, the Ioniq 5 still carries most of the premium features from the 125 kW sibling, including Rear-Wheel Drive, a Vision Roof, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, ambient mood lighting, a power tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, a Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), and advanced voice recognition vehicle controls.

All these features make the Ioniq 5 not just a great electric vehicle but an advanced, technologically sound, and luxurious choice that Nepali customers are looking for in a top-of-the-line EV experience.

The Ioniq 5 also emphasizes Hyundai’s commitment to sustainability. With interiors crafted from recycled materials, including plastic bottles and eco-friendly fabrics, the Ioniq 5 offers an eco-conscious driving experience without compromising on comfort or style. Its fully foldable seats, thinner yet supportive seat design, and adjustable armrests in both the front and rear reflect Hyundai’s dedication to maximizing both space and comfort.

On top of that, with its long wheelbase at 3000 mm, the Ioniq 5 has stability and a comfortable ride on Nepali roads; it also adds a lot to its overall value. The Ioniq 5 was first launched in Nepal back in February 2022, with the starting price of Rs 81.96 lakh. Since then, the luxury EV in the segment of crossovers has gained popularity around the world in Europe, America and Asia.

The new 100 kW model is open for booking. Customers can visit any Hyundai Nepal showroom to book their reservation. Deliveries are expected to start in December 2024, so now is the right time for Nepali drivers to be able to realize their dreams with the latest from Hyundai. With its future-of-design, advanced cutting-edge technology, and commitment to sustainability, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 takes a strong stand in being the incomparable choice for embracing an eco-friendly high-performance electric vehicle in the luxury segment.
