Tata Motors India Unveils New 45kWh Battery Upgrade for Nexon EV
Tata Motors India has just introduced a significant facelift for the Nexon EV, launching a larger 45kWh battery that greatly enhances the vehicle's performance. Using this technology of the battery pack sharing from Curvv EV, Tata Motors intends to push the envelope of electric mobility in driving range, charging times and overall efficiency by upgrading this for EV users.
More importantly, though, is the claimed ARAI range of 489 km—quite a leap from its predecessor. This indeed makes the Nexon EV one of the most promising electric vehicles in India, serving the growing needs of buyers for an efficient, reliable, and 'clean' car both for day-to-day city usage as well as driving long distances. Tata also quotes a real-driving range estimate for the C75, pegged at between 350-370 km. This is a real-world estimate given to buyers so that they will know what they will realistically get in everyday driving, factoring in items like road conditions, driver behavior, and weather.
The larger 45kWh battery brings a whole set of improvements: it has 15% more energy density in the same physical space as the earlier 40kWh unit, while charging times have improved too. If the earlier Nexon EV took a good 56 minutes for a 10-80% charge, the figure's down to 48 minutes now-a substantial improvement for EV users looking at quick turnarounds during road journeys or daily use.
Tata Motors has also equipped the Nexon EV with more features, especially in the higher variants. Its inclusions that will make this variant stand apart are the panoramic sunroof, adding to the luxury within the car and providing a better driving experience. The car also has a front trunk or frunk, which provides additional storage space and is becoming one of the popular trends for electric vehicles. Therefore, the practical design of the Nexon EV now appeals even more to those looking for a mix of style and utility.
It doesn't stop at the sunroof and the frunk, as inside, the Nexon EV will brag about a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that eases the interaction with features on your car. That would be complemented by a 10.25-inch digital driver display while showing all the key info about your vehicle in a modern, easy-to-read format. Adding to this is a wireless phone charger and ventilated front seats, thus making the car even more appealing to customers seeking comfort and convenience.
While doing so, Tata Motors has kept the safety concerns of users by adding advanced safety features in the car. The Nexon EV would come equipped with six airbags as standard for passenger protection at the time of an accident. In addition to that, the vehicle will have a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, and parking sensors both at the front and rear that will make the parking and maneuvering of the car much easier and safer.
On the performance front, the Nexon EV now comes with vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load charging-a feature that separates the Nexon EV from many electric vehicles in the market. The owners will be able to charge other electric vehicles from their Nexon EV or even power external devices in case they go for an outdoor adventure or if that's an emergency. Furthermore, a 7.2kW AC fast charger is available for quicker charging at home or public charging points.
