Unearthing Nepal's Automotive Gems: Vintage Car in Nepal

 From Rana rules to now, classic vintage cars have been one of the rare and antique cars showing the rich and varied past of Nepal. From the history of bringing the first car of Nepal by carrying it on bamboo carts to importing and exporting vintage cars by The Nepal Motor Company, more than 1000 vintage cars were exported to Nepal.

 Now Nepal only has some Vintage cars in Nepal as most of them were destroyed during the civil war of the 1990s. So here are Some of the rare Vintage cars in Nepal at present Carrying the history of classic cars in Nepal.

 1928 Ford Model A

 Unearthing Nepal's Automotive, the Ford Model A is one of the oldest vintage cars in Nepal bought in Kathmandu by carrying it in bamboo carts by hundreds of Balami and Tamang. There are only four pieces and it was smooth and capable of 55 to 65 mph in 1927. 

 One of the 1928 Ford Model A was collected by Raj Shah, the Managing Director of Jawalakhel Group of Industries. He also has more than 25 antique vintage cars from Nepal.

Baby Houston

 Connecting the Classic Car to the cartoons, Baby Houston is one of the small and rare vintage cars in Nepal. People Commonly know this car from the Cartoon Name “Shaun the Sheep” where the owner drives this car. There is no proper description given about the car but it is one of the rarest cars available in Nepal. 

 1940 Singer Rolster

The only piece in Nepal, the 1940 Singer Rolster. It is one of the rear classic cars available in Nepal. With a smooth and powerful engine, this car is full of luxurious and retro looks. Singers were a popular car at their time due to their special design and sound. 

 The overall shape of the car was designed like a car driven by the king to show their luxurious lifestyle and it also has a bespoke front like a Rolls Royce. 

Volvo Amazon 

One of the first cars to have a standard seatbelt is the Volvo Amazon. It is rare because it is the first car to have a standard seatbelt. It was introduced in the United States as the 122S in 1959. At the time of the king, it was brought to Nepal to show the luxurious life of the kings. This car has a closeup look and are fast and smooth vintage car. 

1957 Cadillac Series 62

 Talking about the classic vintage cars in Nepal some of them are rare due to their specification whereas some are due to history. The 1957 Cadillac Series 62 is the pride of joy as Queen Elizabeth sat in this car when she came to Nepal. Due to this, the car has a unique history with Nepal. 

 

1960 Priscilla New Yorker 1960

 Priscilla New Yorker is the largest power-up vintage car in Nepal. It is powered with a 6800cc V8 engine making it a power-up classic car. It was bought by King Mahendra. From the rules of King Mahendra up to New, It is the only highest cc vintage car in Nepal.

 1960 Priscilla New Yorker is collected by Raj Shah, the Managing Director of Jawalakhel Group of Industries. It is available in running condition in his collection.
