Upcoming Cars in NADA Auto Show 2024
The much-anticipated NADA Auto Show 2024 will take place from August 27 to September 1 at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu. Organized by the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal, this premier event will be one of its kinds to be held for the fast-growing automobile sector in the country. The NADA Auto Show means much more than an event of interest to industry stakeholders; it has grown over the years to become a spectacle looked out for by the automotive community. The Exhibition will be a melting pot of innovative, technological, and design capabilities, with important automakers and industry players preparing to showcase the latest trends and products from here.
This year's NADA Auto Show will undoubtedly be the highlight for automotive enthusiasts. The exhibits will comprise a variety of new and old models from leading companies, as well as those from competitors in the Nepali market. And these are some upcoming vehicles that will steal the show.
Zeekr X
The Zeekr X is an electric SUV designed to combine cutting-edge design with powerful performance. Its motor is powered by a 200 kW single Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for its RWD and dual PMSM for the AWD variant, adding up to 315 kW in total. For the RWD version, the maximum power is 272 PS and 343 Nm; for the AWD version, it is 428 PS and 543 Nm. All variants are fitted with a single 66 kWh Ternary Lithium battery, offering up to 440 km in the RWD and 400 km in the AWD on the CLTC cycle. Turning to the Zeekr X, one finds impressive sleek and modern design, LED lights, panoramic sunroof, stylish interior with advanced technologies such as a slidable 14.6-inch central screen and 13-speaker Yamaha sound. The price ranges for the vehicle are RWD at approximately 8.9999 million Nepalese Rupees and AWD at 15.9999 million Nepalese Rupees.
Avatr 11
The forthcoming Avatr 11 is a luxurious all-electric large crossover having the best concepts of ideas and experience of Avatr Technology, the joint venture among Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, poured into it. Built on the CHN platform, it utilizes automotive knowledge from Changan, along with the use of top-notch Huawei technology and the present best solutions for energy storage batteries available from CATL. The Avatr 11 will be powered by a 230 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and produce 312 PS and 370 Nm of torque, packed with a 90 kWh Ternary Lithium Battery with an amazing 730 km run on a single charge. Features of the futuristic design include sharp LED headlights, frameless doors, and a panoramic glass roof, while the luxurious interiors feature a 15.6-inch central screen, a 25-speaker sound system, and advanced safety features comprising ADAS with laser radar. The vehicle is expected to be priced at around Rs. 1.45 Crores in Nepal.
MG Cyberster
The MG Cyberster is a two-seater electric roadster that is coming to Nepal. Unveiled by MG Motors in 2024 for their 100th anniversary, the Cyberster has taken home a string of awards, including the world-renowned Red Dot 'Product Design' award. It boasts scissor doors, dynamic design, and a great driving experience in this stylish convertible. These variants include Rear Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive, with batteries of 64 kWh and 77 kWh, respectively. Most likely to arrive in Nepal, the RWD gets a 231 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor to produce a maximum output of 314 PS and 475 Nm of torque; it has a range of up to 508 km under the WLTP cycle. The Cyberster also comes with advanced features like Level 2 ADAS, a 10.25-inch instrument display, scissor doors, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. It is likely to hit the markets during the NADA Auto Show 2024 with prices between Rs. 1.6 to 2 Crores.
Jaecco j6
The Jaecoo J6 will not only mark its debut in Nepal as the first electric off-road SUV but, from the very early beginning, it will also comment on consciously bold design and features. It will be fitted with a 135kW permanent magnet synchronous motor and 69.8kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, achieving a long range of 501 km (CLTC). The J6 has rugged, boxy lines that remind one of a typical off-roader, very much like the Land Rover Defender, coupled with its interiors that can boast of luxury. It comes with a 15.6-inch infotainment system and loaded features like Level 2 ADAS and a 12-speaker Infinity Sound System. The price will be about Rs. 70 lakhs, and it is expected to be formally launched during the NADA Auto Show in 2024.
Deepal L07
Now being launched in this beautiful country of Nepal, the Deepal L07 is a premium electric hatchback for a price of Rs. 69.99 Lakhs only. Propelled by a 99 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor working alongside a 66.8 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt battery, it provides wide-ranging support with fast charging, thereby ensuring that you can travel for a distance of around 540 km with NEDC. Built on Changan's EPA1 platform, L07 is advanced with safety and intelligent attributes coupled with performance efficiency, which is characterized through its futuristic design. With a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an augmented reality head-up display, 14-sound system, and ADAS 2.5, the Deepal L07 claims to revolutionize the Nepali EV scene.
DongFeng Nammi 01
The Dongfeng Nammi 01 is a fully electric compact hatchback with a price range of Rs 32.99 lakh for the standard variant and Rs 35.99 lakh for the long-range version. The Nammi 01 is powered with a 70 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and 31.4 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a range of 330 km or a 42.3 kWh battery with a 430 km range. This sleek space vehicle is underpinned by an S3 platform with Dongfeng Quantum Architecture, expriming greater capability and connectedness, and incorporates design aesthetics of hidden door handles, a 12.8-inch floating central control screen, and a 360-degree panoramic camera.
Tata Punch EV
The Tata Punch EV is likely to cost between Rs 40 Lakhs to Rs 45 Lakhs in Nepal. The car, which is about to be launched, comes in two variants: Standard Range and Long Range. Punch EV is the first product from Tata's all-new acti.ev platform. The Standard Range variant is powered by a 60 kW motor and matched to a 25 kWh battery that can do 315 km. Meanwhile, the Long Range gets a 90 kW motor and comes with a 35 kWh battery, returning 421 km. Advanced features are given to the car, which includes a 10.2" infotainment display, 6-speaker Harman sound system, 360-degree camera, and more.
Riddara ED6
Riddara RD6 is an all-electric mid-size pickup truck that is expected to go on sale in Nepal. The expected price will be around Rs. 63 Lakhs for the car. It gets a 200 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, with a 63 kWh battery and provides a maximum range of 385 km in CLTC. This truck comes with improved ground clearance of 220 mm, further extended by the Geely's Multiplex Attached Architecture, or MAP, platform, which itself already can accommodate Vehicle-to-Load functions. Top speed is 185 km/h on the RD6, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. It comes with features such as a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 9-inch instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and a 1200-liter rear cargo space.
Leapmotor C10
Leapmotor C10, an all-electric D-segment SUV with a family-centric approach, is coming to Nepal. Fueled by a 170 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and powered by the 69.9 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery, the C10 offers a 530 km range and a top speed of 170 km/h in CLTC. The car comes fitted with Level 3 ADAS System and brings onboard advanced autonomous driving. It will also come in the sleek design, including a minimalistic front, flush door handles, large 20-inch alloy wheels, with a spacious interior, offering a big 14.6-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. The model is expected at a very aggressive price in the Nepali market; the exact price is yet to be declared.
Xpeng G6
The XPeng G6 electric mid-size crossover SUV is the company's first model launched in Nepal. It will be distributed by CG Motors and available in a Long-Range Rear-Wheel-Drive variant, driven by a 210 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and an 87.5 kWh Ternary Lithium Battery, giving a range of 570 km WLTP. Based on the modular and flexible platform SEP A 2.0, G6 combines sleek aerodynamic design with features such as the advanced 15-inch central screen, heated ventilated front seats, and semi-autonomous driving. It would be introduced on-road at around NPR 1 crore to NPR 1.3 crore.
