The minimalist grille, a hallmark of EVs, proudly displays the Changan logo, creating a clean and modern aesthetic. Built for Purpose: The EPA0 Platform Difference
While the Deepal siblings are built on the advanced EPA1 platform for larger vehicles, the Lumin sits on the dedicated EPA0 platform. This is a crucial distinction. The EPA0 architecture is specifically engineered for compact and subcompact electric vehicles, focusing on efficiency, affordability, and mastering the essentials of urban transportation. It’s not about outright performance; it’s about providing a perfectly optimized package for the city dweller.
Unexpectedly Peppy Performance
Nestled within its compact body is an powertrain perfectly suited for cityscapes. The Lumin is powered by a 35 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), delivering 48 PS of power and 83 Nm of instant torque. This translates to zippy acceleration from a standstill, making light work of city traffic and merging onto ring roads.
The heart of the Lumin is its 28.08 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. Renowned for its safety, longevity, and stability, the LFP chemistry is an excellent choice. It grants the Lumin an impressive NEDC-certified range of 301 km on a single charge—more than enough for a week of commuting for most urban users. A full recharge using a standard 3.3kW AC charger takes approximately 9 hours, perfect for an overnight plug-in at home. With a top speed of 101 km/h, it's also fully capable of handling occasional longer trips on highways.
A Tech-Savvy and Safe Cabin
Step inside, and the Lumin continues to impress by defying the "basic" micro-EV stereotype.
Digital Dashboard: The cockpit is centered around a vibrant 10.25-inch central touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity, putting infotainment at your fingertips. It's complemented by a 7-inch LCD meter cluster that displays all essential driving information.
Practical Comfort: Features like a smart key, a 12V power socket, and 50:50 foldable rear seats (which unlock additional storage space beyond the standard 104-liter boot) highlight its practical nature.

The Lumin comes equipped with ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and an auto door unlock function in case of a collision. Hill Hold Control is another invaluable feature for Nepal's terrain, preventing rollback on inclines.
